Meet the Cast – Local Playwright’s Festival
Eva Hernandez (Cynthia)
Eva is honored to be working on their first show with City Theatre as an actor. They are normally behind the scenes or Stage Managing. They were last seen on stage as Cato in the Sacramento Shakespeare Festival production of JULIUS CAESAR. Eva has previously stage managed EURYDICE and SWEAT at City Theatre, POODLE WITH THE GUITAR AND DARK GLASSES with Happy Hour Theater, SHE KILLS MONSTERS, ALMOST, MAINE, and ALL SHOOK UP with C.K. McClatchy High School, and the Annual One act Festival at Big Idea. They were a Stage Management Intern at Broadway Music Circus working on shows such as THE COLOR PURPLE and SOMETHING ROTTEN and are currently working at Capital Stage from time to time.
Ted Muhlhauser (Virgil)
Ted Muhlhauser is a legislative and legal office manager for the State of California who has bounced around California local theatre for five decades. He is excited to help showcase the amazing literary creations in this show. Ted’s other one-act festival acting credits include the 2001 City Theatre festival, HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS: WELCOME BACK (GHOSTLIGHT 2, Shakespeare; FROM THE CELLS OF THE PLAGUE MONKS, Bud). Ted’s many other stage romps include STRATO in JULIUS CAESAR 1922; a futuristic HOMER SIMPSON in MR. BURNS, A POST-ELECTRIC PLAY; FROGGY LESUEUR in THE FOREIGNER; and, FRED in Edward Albee’s THE LADY FROM DUBUQUE.
Kathleen Poe (Evangeline)
Kathleen is a Music professor at Sacramento City College but can’t stop doing theater. Recent roles include Decius Brutus in JULIUS CAESAR (Sacramento Shakespeare Festival), Leonato in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (Big Idea Theater), Penelope in THE PENELOPIAD (Women’s Theater Collective), Father in EURYDICE (City Theater), and portraying a singing, dancing fish in MOBY DICK, the British Panto (Splinter Group). Some previous favorite roles include Macduff in last summer’s production of MACBETH (Sacramento Shakespeare Festival), The Narrator in WOLVES (Big Idea Theater), Judy Boone in THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHTTIME (City Theater), and Polonius in HAMLET (both at CSUS and Sac Shakes). Kathleen is a proud original company member of Wildflower Women’s Ensemble, an all-female Shakespeare ensemble.
