The Seventh Annual 29 1/2 Hour Playwriting Festival
Nobody can write and produce a play in twenty-nine-and-a-half hours! Well, maybe they can. City Theatre at Sacramento City College and Synergy Stage are presenting the Seventh Annual Twenty-Nine-and-a-Half-Hour Playwriting Festival.
On Saturday, September 9, at 12:30 p.m., nine selected playwrights will gather to receive their topics and the number and gender of characters they are to write for. Then they will each go home and complete a ten-minute play in the next eight hours. That night they will bring their play back to the directors. At nine the next morning, the directors and actors will gather to rehearse the plays all day, and have them ready for an 8 p.m. performance that evening.
The performance will be held Sunday, September 10, at 8 p.m. in the Art Court Theatre at Sacramento City College. Tickets are $10, and will be first come, first served. No reservations will be taken. For further information, call 558-2173.
